“The Organization of Islamic Cooperation houses an international youth institution whose sole responsibility are youth policies and issues. The significance of effectively representing the youth and women is one of the key priorities of the 13th Islamic Summit. I would like to highlight the historical achievement of the first OIC Young Leaders Summit held successfully by Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) , during the 13th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference, on 11-13 April in Istanbul”

H.E Nassir Abdulaziz Al Nasser
High Representative United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC)

“I am very pleased to be here today on the occasion of the Closing Ceremony of the OIC Youth Summit of the Islamic Summit of the Heads of State. I wish to congratulate Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) Secretariat for organizing this successful event and for making young people an integral part of the discussions of the summit. As a High Representative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations it was refreshing to see that the objectives of this summit are very close to those we pursue in the organizations I lead, where we work with young women and men to promote unity despite differences through intercultural and interfaith dialogue, in order to ensure a more just and peaceful future from which no one is excluded. I would like to congratulate our young leaders present today; you can be proud of what has brought you here, your passion and commitment to create a better world, and of your leadership motivating others to do the same. We believe that the primary of agents of change, not just in the future but in the present, are our young people.”

“I am pleased to send this message to the Organization of Islamic Conference Young Leaders Summit. I commend the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), as well as the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports for organizing this event to discuss issues of youth participation and engagement, ways to prevent and counter violence, and to promote intra and intercultural dialogue. You gather at an important moment in history. This is the first year of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Now more than ever, we need the power of young people, regardless of their social, economic, religious or ethnic backgrounds, to help achieve the goals and targets outlined in the SDG framework. As many of you know, the Istanbul Youth Declaration adopted in the 2nd General Assembly of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) echoes the 2030 Agenda by recognizing the importance of young people as equal partners in sustainable development. I am hopeful that your Summit will build upon this declaration and act as a platform to give voice to young people from member countries of the OIC and strengthen their sense of solidarity. In doing so, the Young Leaders Summit will surely help to bolster efforts to achieve the SDGs by 2030. I encourage you all to take the knowledge acquired here and share it with your peers. Take advantage of this opportunity to share experiences and work together on key issues for your communities, and further contribute to the prosperity of people and the planet. Please accept my best wishes for a memorable and fruitful Summit.'”
